We are now operating a TELEPHONE FIRST TRIAGE system. If you need medical advice we would ask that you phone the surgery between 8.30am and 6.00pm, but ideally as early in the day as possible.
The receptionist will take your details and arrange a call with the GP, this call may not be on the same day depending on GP availability. However, to assist the GP in prioritising calls we will ask you to give a short message on the nature of your medical complaint.
If the surgery is very busy we may only be accepting urgent calls, this is why it is important to call early in the day and also to give a short summary of your problem.
There may also be other services that could manage your issue more quickly, local chemists can now prescribe antibiotics for urinary tract infections and cystitis as well as provide emergency contraceptive advice, your local optician can manage most eye complaints and you can self refer to physio, social work and maternity services.
