Telephone Advice

telephoneTo obtain telephone advice, it is best to contact the surgery between 9am and 10am (If it is an appointment you require, please telephone at 8.30am).

The reception staff will take details and a doctor or nurse will return your call.

Aghalee Surgery operates a triage service alongside pre-bookable appointments every afternoon, except Wednesdays.  If you feel the problem is urgent or cannot wait until the next available appointment, you can discuss this with the triage doctor.  This may result in a prescription being issued or blood tests/investigations being arranged.  If the triage doctor considers it appropriate, a GP appointment will be offered that afternoon.  When making such a call to the surgery it is important to remember to do so as early in the day as is possible.

During times of increased demand, the GP may advise the receptionist that urgent matters only will be dealt with by the triage doctor.

If urgent medical advice is required please make this clear to reception staff.

Please wait at least four days before ringing for the results of a routine blood test.

Your medical information will not be given to another person unless we have your permission to do so.
